Apples (#1-11). 3D scanned and printed apples. 2014.
About the series:
My Apple sculptures started with an impulse. I cut, sliced, and bit into apples, then placed them on a 3D scanner. The scanning process struggles with wet areas of the apples, which in turn become abstracted. The resulting 3D prints make the errors tangible. The process marries a scientific process with artistic abstraction; high precision with accidents and ghosts.
